Homework Help

The McCabe Scholars Team provides individual homework help every Monday through Thursday, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Whittier -- just before the Fifth Dimension during the club's Power Hour. Members of the team also organize learning games and individual reading for children who finish school assignments before Power Hour ends (below).

During the 2006-2007 school year, a total of 221 club members received one-to-one homework assistance, tutoring, and alternative learning during the club's Power Hour. In addition to the McCabe Scholars, Whittier College students enrolled in a teacher education course, Education 406: Learning & Learners, also assisted with homework. McCabe team members offered additional homework help after The Fifth Dimension during the 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wizard's Hour.
